SB Equities has close ties to the CAK Industrial Park, which is located adjacent to the Akron-Canton Airport. In addition to owning a 350,000 square foot facility within this park, SBE’s management arm is the property manager for the entire park. GREEN, Ohio — More than 135,100 passengers traveled to and from the Akron-Canton Airport last month, making it the busiest May in the airport’s history. May’s total is up 11% compared to May 2009 and beats the airport’s previous best May, in 2006, by 9,718 passengers. For the first five months of this year, 609,469 passengers traveled to and from the airport, an 8% increase over the same period in 2009. “The additional flights, bigger jets and new destinations certainly helped our momentum, but in the end it is our deep commitment to award-winning customer service that helped us set our third monthly record in 2010,” said Rick McQueen, airport president and CEO. Every carrier at at the airport experienced an increase last month. AirTran Airways, which added extra flights to New York and Orlando, Fla., carried 59,356 total passengers for the month, up 7% compared to May 2009. Additionally, new flights AirTran Airways offers in partnership with SkyWest Airlines to Milwaukee added another 4,400 passengers. Delta, which added a flight each to Atlanta and Detroit, enjoyed a 13% increase compared to March 2009. US Airways, United Express and Frontier Airlines were up 7%, 2% and 0.5%, respectively.
